Those Old Mayan Guys

Predictions of the End of the World have become more frequent in the last 50 years (yearly since 1972 – see the Wikipedia entry.

2012 was a banner year for End of the World predictions.  Those old Mayan Guys led the way.  The Mayan calendar ran out at the end of the 13th Baktun, December 21, 2012.  This poem was written then, and I thought it deserved a spot as poem-of-the-month.  Mainly because the world seems closer to ending any day now.  We may either cook or choke.  Maybe there’s another poem there, but I don’t have as much cred as Those Old Mayan Guys!
